I’m familiar with Bill Watterson and Queen, of course; this has been making the rounds of Facebook, Imgur, and Tumblr since autumn 2023, but I’ve been unable to find a version that credits the fanartist who so cleverly fused the two—the lettering alone, including “Bismillah” in the original Arabic and the sudden gigantic red scare text of “BEELZEBUB”, is worthy of Joe Sabino. And the time frame is right: children in Calvin’s generational bracket would know this song as a favorite of their parents.)
(And, should Calvin’s dad actually happen to agree with his son’s grievance about school, you know he’d absolutely pull something like this. For today’s Show and Tell: the nut the tree fell from.)

Here's a little something to help take the bad taste out of the mouths of A:tlA fans disgruntled by the upcoming movie treatment: scdsam has been creating a series of Avatar-themed bentos; Sam's lunchbending demonstrates not only creativity and humor but a knack for nailing character likenesses and expressions using the simplest of materials.

During the course of a Fanficrant (community.livejournal.com/fanficrants/8042596.html) concerning anachronisms committed by younger writers of Watchmen fic, I happened to remark offhandedly that "(1970 and 1985, from the standpoint of the turn-of-the millennium generation) both fall within the Like So Before I Was Born Era, along with Shakespeare, tyrannosaurs, and zeppelins."
Be careful what you say in the earshot of fans:
