In honor of the 20 April 2025 holiday overlap.

This 1970’s blacklight poster portrays a jaundiced-looking (in the literal as well as figurative sense: his fur is yellow) Bugs Bunnyesque cartoon rabbit. He’s wearing an Uncle Sam hat, blue pince-nez, a red shirt, a blue cravat patterned with pink squiggles and a red-and-yellow bullseye, and a jacket with navy-and-white star-spangled lapels and cuffs, and smoking a handrolled marijuana cigarette in a hash pipe. The caption above, in a bulbous graffitiesque font in firefly yellow, reads, “ENJOY TODAY…TOMORROW MAY BE EVEN WORSE.”
This poster, issued in 1972 by Saladin Productions, is by the prolific Joe Petagno, famous for not only a zillion Recreational Botany endorsements in blacklight but a legendary body of rock artwork, including Motörhead’s Snaggletooth mascot and Led Zeppelin’s Swan Song falling angel (the latter a homage to William Rimmer’s Evening AKA The Fall of Day.)
